Les bouchots à Mytilus edulis Linnaeus dans l'écosystème estuarien du bassin de Marennes-Oléron (France): aspects biologique et bioénergétique ArchiMer

L'étude des moules de bouchots, Mytilus edulis L. a été réalisée pour caractériser les phénomènes biologiques et leur importance énergétique dans le bassin de Marennes-Oléron. Le suivi hydrobiologique a montré que la nourriture disponible pour les moules est plus abondante du printemps au début de l'été. Il a été possible de mettre en évidence une compétition spatiale extrêmement forte, au niveau intraspécïfique. Les moules cultivées à partir du transfert des naissains collectés sur cordes poussent plus rapidement que celles provenant d'une fixation directe du naissain sur les bouchots. La période de ponte est étalée entre février et  mai d'où l'existence de recrutement en juin. On peut proposer comme période de pêche, une saison allant de juin à novembre,...

A displacement of the fishing effort of the French pelagic trawlers from anchovy to the seabass fisheries is observed. A such situation on a non-quota managed species requires to analyse carefully the evolution in the status of seabass stocks. The evolution of fishing effort, the production and the landings per unit of effort were studied from 2000 to 2007 for the bottom trawling and for the pair pelagic trawling in the ICES sub-areas VIII and VII. The fishing effort was assessed by using a threshold on the landings by month in order to select the most effective fishing effort as representing 75 % of the effort concerned with seabass landings. Exploited fish populations are dependent on recruitment (i.e. size of the new year class) to sustain their abundance. Recruitment variations are related to hydroclimatic variations and may accentuate the detrimental effects of fishing. Recruitment prediction requires accurate fisheries oceanographic tools, which are expected to be more reliable than large-scale correlation analyses between fish abundance and climate variables. Modelling and numerical simulations of larval migration of the sole (Solea solea (L.)) of the Bay of Biscay. Part 1: modelling ArchiMer

A spatio-temporal model describing the dynamics of a population of sole is presented. The model is an extension to a 2D-space structure of a 1D model published by the three first authors. Spatial migration is modelled by an advection-diffusion second order operator with constant coefficients. The physical domain is represented by a half-plane with the coast as its boundary. A formula for estimating the proportion of eggs reaching the juvenile stage, depending upon climatic, transport, growth and mortality processes, is derived. This paper is the second part of a work on the modelling of larval migration and growth fur the sole of the Bay of Biscay (Solea solea (L.)). The goal of the paper is twofold: first of all, it aims at presenting a numerical application of the formulae (concerning the recruitment rate) elaborated in the first paper. Results show a high sensitivity with respect to some parameters. Then, a comparison is made with a numerical model using a 3D circulation model provided by Ifremer.

Le travail est axé sur la volonté de la filière conchylicole méditerranéenne pour s'approvisionner en naissains d'huîtres creuses sauvages d’origine lagunaire. L'observatoire du captage naturel, mis en place entre 2012 et 2014, a permis de découvrir des gisements de naissains collectés naturellement dans la lagune de Thau selon un protocole défini à l’échelle expérimentale. Bien que très hétérogènes spatialement et temporellement, les densités de naissains sur les collecteurs révèlent des catégories de captage allant de "moyen i. e. 20 à 200 naissains par coupelle" à "excellent i. e. 200 à 2000 naissains par coupelle " sur certaines stations expérimentales. Reproduction and growth of the deep-sea brittlestar ophiura-ljungmani (lyman) ArchiMer

Reproductive biology and population dynamics of Ophiura Ijungmani were studied by measuring disk diameters and by examining oocyte size-frequencies and fecundity from a sequential seasonal series of large samples from a 2900 m deep Permanent Station in the Rockall Trough (Northeast Atlantic). Egg size (max. 90 !lm) and fecundity (up to 57000 eggs per individual) suggests indirect planktotrophic development, while a clear annual cycle in gametogenesis, with probably synchronous spawning in JanuaryFebruary, confirms a marked seasonality that is also seen as an annual, summertime set of postlarvae on to the bottom. This study is based on catched larvae data base produced since C. gigas was first imported into the Charentais Sounds (late 1960s, early 1970s). The method for catching larvae using a towed net remained unchanged between 1950 and 1998. Four sites have been sampled in the Bay since 1970, two situated in the Seudre estuary and two in the middle of the Bay. Two other sites from near the mouth of the Charente River have been sampled since 1982. For each sample, oyster larvae were counted in four size classes, from the young larva (1-4 days) to near metamorphosis (16-20 days). Reproduction et recrutement de Mytilus edulis L. cultivée sur les bouchots du bassin de Marennes-Oléron ArchiMer

Observations on the gonads of 50 mm mussels, made during 1983 and 1984, showed that the onsert of gametogenesis occured during September and that the gonads reached maturity in December. Spawning took place from early February to April at temperatures from 10 to 12°C. The flesh had a high water content at the beginning of the spawning period. The pelagic live of the larvae lasts about 30 days with settlement occurring in June when some 90 and 100 spats settle on 1 cpm of rope per day. The intensity of recruitment was 56.10(4) and 722.10(4) larvaes on rope corresponding to a square meter during 1983, and between 28.10(4) and 81.10(4) during 1984.
